London Eye
Got some time yesterday to bring out my camera and take some pics of the London Eye. It was a misty night, in the best London tradition!

The London Eye is a 135-metre (443 ft) tall giant Ferris wheel situated on the banks of the River Thames, in London, England.
It is the tallest Ferris wheel in Europe, and the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom, visited by over 3.5 million people annually. When erected in 1999, it was the tallest Ferris wheel in the world, until surpassed first by the 160 m (520 ft) Star of Nanchang in 2006, and then the 165 m (541 ft) Singapore Flyer in 2008. It is still described by its operators as "the world's tallest cantilevered observation wheel" (as the wheel is supported by an A-frame on one side only, unlike the Nanchang and Singapore wheels).
Commonly known as the London Eye, or Millennium Wheel, formerly the Merlin Entertainments London Eye and before that, the British Airways London Eye. Since 20 January 2011, it has been officially known as the EDF Energy London Eye following a three-year sponsorship deal.
The London Eye is located at the western end of Jubilee Gardens, on the South Bank of the River Thames in the London Borough of Lambeth, between Westminster Bridge and Hungerford Bridge. The site is adjacent to that of the former Dome of Discovery, which was built for the Festival of Britain in 1951.

L’angolo della gnocca – Flickr gnoccas
Perchè andare a cercare gnocche esoteriche chissà dove quando si ha a disposizione la più famosa community di fotografia del mondo (Flickr) ? E'quello che ho pensato quando mi sono reso conto che, pur essendo ormai il mese di Settembre agli sgoccioli, non avevo ancora ottemperato ai miei doveri morali nei confronti dell'audience maschile eterosessuale di questo blog. Quella che, come il sottoscritto, in parole più volgari (ma non troppo), concupisce la patonza. Io concupisco anche le virgole, come vi sarete accorti leggendo, ma passiamo oltre.
Ma anche no! Intanto che ci sono, vi informo che scrivendo questo post ho scoperto che il verbo concupire è transitivo, e non intransitivo come credevo. Questo dimostra principalmente due cose: primo, la patata è culturale. Secondo, io sono un ingegnere letterato e quindi sono figo ancor più di quanto già non fosse assodato. Ok, ho capito, passiamo al succo del discorso.

Il Vortex-Calendario 2007
[ DOWNLOAD THE CALENDAR - SCARICA IL CALENDARIO ] No, le mie ammiratrici rimarranno deluse, ma non è ancora giunto il momento di essere immortalato in posa plastica per la gioia di tutte le donne. Invece, ho deciso di seguire l'esempio di maestroalberto e di creare anche io il mio calendario personalizzato con Flickr. Le foto non sono mie (tranne quella di Novembre), e le ho scelte tra le più belle scattate nel relativo mese 2006. Le foto hanno licenza Creative Commons quindi potete scaricare senza problemi il calendario per utilizzarlo nella vostra cameretta (immagino che starete già cestinando quello della Tommasi per far posto al mio).
